During the 1960s, Ronnie Barker established his comic credentials in a series of hilarious, dialogue-free slapstick films in the style of Eric Sykes' The Plank - the format was later adopted by Rowan Atkinson in the Mr Bean series. Like The Plank, this noisy but wordless comedy of errors follows a group of bumbling builders as they attempt to construct a housing block while taking endless cups of tea. From Ronnie Barker's frustrated attempts to lay concrete, to Bill Fraser's attempt to beat his fellow workers to the toilet, and the trials and tribulations of a dyslexic stonemason, the incompetent labourers inspire a series of surreal sight gags. When the married couple finally move in, nearly three years after they placed their deposit, they have every reason to fear what they will find in their dream home!
