Synopsis
A year before his blossoming career was tragically cut short in a fatal plane crash, the legendary Otis Redding performed a series of career-defining concerts across the US and Europe. This stunning DVD captures Otis ground-breaking appearance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, and includes outtakes from his Stax/Volt label European tour in 1968, both with celebrated backup band Booker T and the MGs (with the Mar-Keys).
The European tour features Otis delivering his inimitable passion on "Try a Little Tenderness"; while Monterey Pop, the worlds first big outdoor rock festival and the show that broke Otis to a mass white audience, sees the soul master cutting loose on Respect, Satisfaction, I've Been Loving You and many more timeless hits. Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, the number one smash written after Monterey and recorded only three days before Reddings death, is presented here over a photo montage, a postscript to a too short but brilliant career.
Tracks include:
Shake My Girl Green Onions Something Is Wrong Hold On I'm Coming Satisfaction Try A Little Tenderness Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay Respect I've Been Loving
