Synopsis
With the relaxing of censorship laws in the early 1970s, a feast of B-films exploded onto Australian screens as maverick filmmakers served up a diet of murder, mayhem and full frontal nudity in exploitation classics such as Stork, Alvin Purple and Stone. Celebrated in the hit documentary Not Quite Hollywood, six of these Ozploitation genre films are presented here in one post-apocalyptic mash-up of sex, violence and foot-to-the-floor action!
The Naked Bunyip (1970) - Graeme Blundell hosts, Barry Humphries and Russell Morris guest in this controversial, cult sexumentary that marked the birth of the Oz film revival.
Night of Fear/Inn of the Dammed (1972/74) - Two of the most controversial Australian horror films of the 70s, one banned for "indecency and obscenity", the other packed with sadistic violence and bare flesh.
Adventures of Barry McKenzie (1972) Wild colonial boy Bazza McKenzie (Barry Crocker) ventures back to the old country armed with cans of Fosters and Aunt Edna Everage (Barry Humphries).
Harlequin (1980) - The atmospheric chiller in the tradition of Rosemarys Baby and The Omen
Road Games (1981) On a 1600 mile stretch of desert highway someone is playing a deadly game of sex, violence... and sudden death! Starring Stacey Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Turkey Shoot (1982) The cult classic set in a futuristic, maximum security detention centre is packed full of gratuitous splatter and lashings of nudity
