Synopsis
Writer-director Samuel Fuller's sixth film about a low-life, petty criminal is a nominally anti-Communist B-pic and an American noir classic. New York pickpocket, Skip McCoy (Richard Widmark), has his eyes fixed on the big score – but when the cocky ex-con picks the pocketbook of Candy (Jean Peters), the former mistress of a Communist spy, he finds a haul bigger than he could have imagined : a strip of microfilm bearing confidential US secrets.
