Synopsis
This hilarious heist comedy was the first big-screen vehicle for British comic Steve Coogan (24 Hour Party People), and was directed by Australian John Duigan (The Year My Voice Broke, Sirens, Flirting).
When framed for murder by a corrupt detective, hapless parole officer Simon Garden (Coogan) must recruit a motley gang of his ex-con clients to rob a bank that holds crucial evidence. Having persuaded the only criminals he has successfully rehabilitated to return to their dishonest lives, Coogan’s dysfunctional gang—led by Om Puri (My Son the Fanatic)—are a scream as they bond, bicker and fumble their way towards the big heist.
