Synopsis

The small screen adaptation of Irwin Shaw's best-selling 1970s novel, Rich Man, Poor Man was an epic television event, the first-ever blockbuster miniseries and a huge ratings hit around the world. Winning 4 Emmys and 4 Golden Globes, and with a stellar ensemble cast including Nick Nolte, Susan Blakely, Peter Strauss and Ed Asner, Rich Man, Poor Man recounts the lives of immigrant brothers Rudy (Strauss) and Tom (Nolte) Jordache for two decades following WWII. United against their controlling father (Asner) as young men during the war years, the brothers soon follow divergent paths, with Rudy gaining great wealth and power as a lawyer and politician, and Tom battling through life as a boxer and gangster thug. All-the-while, the two continue an epic struggle to gain the love of the beautiful Julie Prescott (Susan Blakely).
