One of the best-loved anime series of all time, Mysterious Cities of Gold developed a huge cult following when airing on ABCTV in Australia, and finally come to DVD in a special 6 disc collectors edition. When Esteban accompanies a party of Spaniards searching for gold in the New World, he is joined on his quest by Zia, an Incan girl kidnapped from her family who is also searching for her father, and Tao, the last descendant of the sunken empire of Hiva. Aboard the magnificent Golden Condor their adventures take them through an Incan empire under Spanish attack, to the vast Amazon forest, and the land of the Mayas. Resisting attack from tyrants and traitors, their goal is not gold but a long-awaited reunion with their loved ones.
