Synopsis

Also known as Crossed Swords, this thrilling adaptation of Mark Twain's classic novel featuring an all-star cast is a lively tale of action, adventure, romance and intrigue, directed by award winning filmmaker Richard Fleischer (Doctor Dolittle, Soylent Green)
Tom Canty (Mark Lester, Oliver!) is a cockney street urchin with an uncanny resemblance to Prince Edward (also played by Mark Lester), son of King Henry VIII (Oscar® winner Charlton Heston, Ben Hur). After a chance meeting with the young Prince of Wales, Tom and Edward decide to see how the other half lives, playing a prank on their respective families. Switching roles they each enter a new world of opportunity and challenge. But as one is thrust into the privileged world of royalty, the other is forced to survive the harsh underworld of Tudor England.
A lavishly presented production from the creative team behind The Three Musketeers , The Prince and the Pauper also features Raquel Welch, Ernest Borgnine, George C. Scott, Rex Harrison, Oliver Reed and David Hemmings.
