Synopsis

It was a golden age of music, when rock 'n' roll and pop was on the rise and local audiences were hungry for more. With TV in its infancy, 1958 heralded the beginning of the much-loved national television triumph – Bandstand. Created by TCN-9 executive Bruce Gyngell and modelled on the successful American musical and variety show of the same name, Bandstand was hosted by the ever-charming Brian Henderson - setting the standard for 14 entertaining years and presenting an astonishing 1500 local and international acts during its illustrious reign.
