VICTOR BORGE - IN CONCERT AND ENCORE
Victor Borge, the master musical wit and 'comedian of the keyboard', is captured at his hilarious best in this special London concert performance recorded in 1979. A child prodigy who gave his first piano recital at age eight, the Copenhangen-born Borge moved to the U.S. and combined his piano prowess with a penchant for comic one-liners, a unique cross between stand-up and high art that saw Borges reinvent classical music. Performing with the 70-piece Wren Orchestra in the Grand Hall of the Wembley Conference Centre - with American soprano, Marylin Mulvey - Borges takes the musical mickey out of Chopin and the great composers in a laugh-out-loud spoof filled with his trademark double-takes and double-entendres.
