KIMBERLEY JIM

Synopsis

Kimberley Jim (aka Strike it Rich) stars country and western singer Jim Reeves (his first and only feature film) as a carefree, guitar-strumming con artist from Tennesse who finds his way to Kimberley, South Africa, during the diamond rush of the late 19th century. With fellow fraudster Gerry Bates (Clive Parnell), Jim gets up to a lot of trouble, robbing the locals of their hard-won cash through a series of lowly scams. But when Jim and Gerry fall for a sexy bar singer (Madeline Usher) and daughter of the mine owner they swindled in a poker game, they soon change their evil ways, staging a night of wine, dance and song (including some rousing numbers from Reeves) to support the struggling community. Now heroes in Kimberley, the carousers have to decide whether to stay, or set off again for more romance and adventure.
