I, Object Gets a New Trailer and Poster

Kiwi writer-director Andrew Niccol’s I, Object, starring Karl Urban and Anna Faris, will be released in New Zealand cinemas July 23 via Umbrella Entertainment.

I, Object follows Tom, a 10-year-old boy with a vivid imagination. After the sudden death of his father, Tom retreats into a fantastical world they once shared – where faces come alive in everyday objects. But what was once a playful bond becomes an emotional refuge, distancing him from the real world. These companions guide Tom through his grief, helping him confront the loss of his father and, ultimately, rediscover his connections with the people around him.

Skywalker Hughes and Bentley Storteboom also star alongside a voice cast that includes Ethan Hawke, Jermaine Clement and Rachel Griffiths.

Shot in Wellington, the animated/live-action hybrid is a Canada’s Scythia Films and NZ’s Southern Light Films. Producers include Timothy White, Polly Fryer, Niccol, Daniel Bekerman, Craig Lyn, Karl Urban, Chris Yurkovich and Alex Ordanis.
